This is a museum quality reproduction of a Gomphothere tooth, a primitive relative to the Elephant. The original tooth came from the Pliocene Period of the Majave Desert South, California, USA and measures 135mm high x 180mm wide x 73 deep. Certain fossils are just too costly and some are one-of-a-kind specimens that can only be viewed at museums. This fossil reproduction is an exact copy, cast in resin directly from the actual fossil itself.
