This is a Byzantine Oil Lamp, 5th-6th century A.D. A ceramic oil lamp, pale buff oval body, makers mark inside the foot, the spout forming a channel to the top with bands of horizontal lines and semi-circles. Provenance: Ex. Private Collection of Michael Green. The artefact is complete (faint crack to one side), no repairs and in fine condition and measures 98mm x 80mm x 47mm tall.
