This is a Crane Fly Insect (Order: Diptera Family: Tipulidae) from the Middle Eocene (50 million years), Green River Formation, Uintah County, USA. The Green River Formation deposits of Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah are best known for their preserved fish, but other examples are known as well, as this specimen attests. The specimen measures 27mm lond on a matrix 62mm x 35mm.
